About Kiddywinks Puppet Theatre
Kiddywinks Puppet Theatre came alive in 2005.
Julia Baker, born 1969 knew from the age of 6yrs that entertaining people was something she was meant to do.
Although it didn’t always go down too well!
(High school teachers never quite appreciated her practising that skill in classrooms)
At the age of 12 she got that chance as her Dad built his first Puppet Booth and together they were to perform various Punch and Judy Shows for the American children stationed in Germany where they lived.
Alas! Puberty hit and the “real world” of trades and school certificates etc took over.
Her Father continued the Shows professionally with Mum jumping to the rescue performing as “Judy” and various other funny characters.
Today still, after 25yrs of performing (and well into their 70s!) both parents are still busy with Shows and a great inspiration to Julia.
The drive and passion to entertain never did let go, and Julia is now proud to be one of the finest and most established full-time children’s entertainers in QLD.
She has an advanced Diploma in Stage/Screen acting and has completed workshops such as :
- Screen Comedy Skills
- Improv Theatre
- Staged body combat
Julia has two beautiful young daughters herself and confesses “I'm living my dream!”
